What is job evaluation?
A job evaluation is the process by which managers at a company compare a specific role to others that are currently filled to understand how much value can be ascribed to it. This can be done to either agree on the value of one role as outlined, or to help in the creation of a company’s overarching pay and compensation structure.
A job evaluation is predicated on job analysis which needs to be done with as high a degree of detail as possible. In some ways, the terms are interlinked and one cannot be performed without the other. As a result, it’s a good idea to invest in the best possible data analytics for your company to provide you with a solid analytical bedrock.
