What is structured interview?
All interviews have a structure of course but a structured interview specifically refers to when the interview utilizes a rigidly defined structure, a list of questions that will be asked in the same pattern in each separate interview. This helps the interviewer to maintain consistency during the interviewing and hiring processes, and gather uniform information consistently.
Not only does this rigid structure make these kinds of interviews simple to organize and consistent, human error issues are minimized, answers are simpler to prepare and potential bias is reduced. As such it’s a good idea to use the structured interview format when you have a large number of candidates to interview for just one or a limited number of positions.
