What is stay interview?
A stay interview represents a form of intervention whereby an employee, who may be underperforming or has declared their intention to leave the company, sits down with a manager in order to discuss what’ll make them stay. Sometimes, this interview may also take place as a standard process to help improve the company’s employee engagement rate.
Questions asked during a stay interview will naturally focus on what would compel an employee to remain in their position, and if their performance is low, what can be done to help boost it. At the end of the interview you should be able to put into a plan of action focused on employee retention based on the answers that you, as a manager, just received.
