What is buddy system?
Buddying or the "buddy" system at work is a method of managing the safety and development of employees. Employees are divided into pairs, where each pair is responsible for each other in terms of monitoring and providing assistance in the event of an emergency. This system helps to create an atmosphere of mutual support and accountability, making it easier for employees to take care of each other. A buddy system also helps to reduce the number of accidents and injuries in the workplace as each person is more aware of potential risks and can take steps to mitigate them. Additionally, the buddy system provides an extra layer of safety because both parties are looking out for each other. Having a designated buddy makes employees feel safer and more willing to take reasonable risks too.
In addition, buddying helps employees to engage in the work process and develop in their position faster because, like mentoring, it involves helping another person to adapt to the workplace.
